Social programme, see also Social events Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 Welcome reception Location: RAI Congress Centre 18.00-20.00 hours After the official opening ceremony a welcome reception will be hosted in the exhibition area. The Mayor of the city of Amsterdam will welcome all participants and accompanying persons. Dress code: informal Entrance: admission is included in the registrations fees for participants and accompanying persons. Friday, June 13th, 2008 Congress dinner Location: Hilton Hotel Amsterdam 19.15 hours Venue for the banquet will be the city’s leading contemporary hotel, the Hilton Amsterdam. The hotel is overlooking its own canal-side gardens and scenic private marina. As traditions require, there will be good food, music and entertainment. The dinner should be pre-booked by completing the relevant section on the registration form and including payment. * Resident registrations (PhD or Master programme) must be accompanied by a letter of authorisation signed by the Head of the Department. Please note that the deadline for pre-registration is June 1st, 2008. After the deadline, we will not be able to process your registration, and you will need to register on-site at the congress. General information Badges Participants and accompanying persons receive individual name badges when registering at the congress. Name badges must be worn at all times throughout the congress and social functions. Food and refreshments Coffee and tea during the official breaks and lunches are included in the registration fee of the participants. Schiphol International Airport The centre of Amsterdam is less than 15 minutes from Schiphol, acknowledged as one of the best airports. Website www.rai.nl How to get to the RAI Congress Centre - By air You can reach Amsterdam RAI from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol by car or public transport in less than 15 minutes. Schiphol Airport is one of Europe's biggest airports and offers passengers a high standard of service. - By tram & bus If you arrive at Amsterdam Central Station (CS), you can take the Amstelveen express tram 51 (travelling time: 12 minutes, exit at the Amsterdam RAI station) or tram 4 (travelling time: 30 minutes, exit at the RAI Europaplein). If you are travelling by train to the Amstel station, you can take the Amstelveen express tram 51 (travelling time: 5 minutes) or the bus (route 15, 69 or 169), which will bring you to the RAI within 10 minutes. In this case you should get off at RAI Europaplein. From Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, the best way to reach the RAI is with express tram 50. - By Train NS-station Amsterdam RAI is Website: www.ns.nl - By car The RAI is ideally suited for visitors who come by car. It is situated alongside the Amsterdam’s A10 orbital motorway (exit S109) and has its own underground car parks. This means that the RAI is easily accessible for visitors coming from the Netherlands or abroad. All the main motorways can be reached without difficulty from the orbital motorway. Numerous signboards indicate repeatedly to the RAI. Payment and cancellation policy registration fees Your registration cannot be processed without payment. Please submit your payment information together with the completed registration. On line registration with secure payment is available at the website www.NOF2008.org You can choose from the following payment methods (all payments in Euro’s only): - By credit card: i.e. Visa, Mastercard, American Express - Bank transfer (invoice will be sent) - Direct debet (i.e. ‘Machtiging’ for Dutch citizens only) Bank charges are the responsibility of the participant and should be paid at source in addition to the amount due. Confirmation of registration Within 2 weeks after registering you will receive a letter of confirmation, together with an invoice or receipt for payment from the Congress Secretariat. Cancellation and reimbursements Any changes or cancellations in connection with registration fees, social programme or excursions must be made in writing to the Congress Organisation of the AMC (fax +31 20 696 3228, e-mail NOF2008@amc.nl) In case of cancellation received - by May 15th, 2008 The amount will be refunded with a deduction of € 50,- for administrative charges. - after May 15th, 2008 No refund will be allowed for cancellations or no-shows. |
